So Excited - Day 1 of my 1st allotment

It’s been a while since I was this excited. Having waited a year and a half to get a plot on my local allotment today was the day I got to choose my plot and get the key. I've been on a high all day and to be honest I'm not quite sure why. That is because it’s more of a wood than an allotment plot and will take many months of hard graft just to make it usable. Perhaps it’s just the potential it has. A blank slate that I can make my own just as I want it.

So what’s the dream: It’s got to be organic. No power tools or machinery. Fully self sufficient using as many natural materials as possible. I hate those plots that look plastic than plant so I will be reclaiming as must wood as I can when I clear and will hopefully end up with a nice rustic retreat where I can enjoy getting my hands mucky, working up a good sweat and then sit and enjoy a beer surveying my handiwork.

Watch this space to see how I get on :)
